Professor - Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
Dr. Liu joined the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in 2009. Dr. Liu became an Associate Professor in 2015 and a Professor in 2021. Dr. Liu’s research focuses on the development of nanoelectronic sensors and integrated biosensing systems for rapid detection of biomarkers, and microphysiological systems for studying cellular/tissue functions and drug tests. Dr. Liu has taught courses in the areas of electrical engineering, bioengineering, and micro-scaled technologies. Dr. Liu has received several honors from Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at WVU, including the Outstanding Educator Award (2021), the Outstanding Teacher Award (2015), and the Outstanding Researcher Award (2014).
