Research Associate Professor - Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering
Chen began work as an assistant engineer for Oriental Metal-Hydride Technologies in China (1993-1994). From there he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University until 2002. He was the Chief Engineer at KAN Power Source Co. Ltd. from 1997 to 1998. Chen also acted as a research assistant for the chemical engineering department at the Instituto Superior Tecnico in Portugal between 2000 and 2004. Until 2007, he was a Research Associate for the Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Chen continued to work there until 2008 as a Research Scientist. He was a Research Associate at the National Energy and Technology Laboratory (NETL) and at WVU until 2012. Since then, he as served as a Research Assistant Professor at WVU.
