Roy Nutter Jr.

Professor Emeritus - Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering

Professor Nutter is a licensed Professional Engineer in West Virginia. He has served West Virginia and West Virginia University for over 45 years as a subject matter expert in the areas of microprocessor based IoT devices, cybersecurity, and electric vehicles. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in a wide spectrum of areas including computer architecture, logic design, cybersecurity, and electric vehicles. His research has included cybersecurity, electric vehicles, and data acquisition, robotics, and communication systems for mining.

He is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE, Life Fellow. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Society of Automotive Engineering. He has been elected a member of the WVU Faculty Senate for over 20 years and has served as the Chair. He has also served on the WVU Board of Governors and as the WVU Faculty Representative to State Government for 15 years.
