Dr. Ralph W. Plummer is a Professor in the IMSE Department at WVU. He served as Chair of the IMSE Dept. from 1986 through June, 1999. Dr. Plummer has been the Director of the Industrial Assessment Center since 1992. This project is funded by DOE and assists manufacturers reduce energy consumption and waste while improving their productivity. Dr. Plummer teaches and consults on the topics of Human Factors, Safety Engineering and I.E. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and Certified Professional Ergonomist.

Early in his career he gained experience with IBM and Corning Glass. During his career he has worked with these federal agencies--Bureau of Mines, DOE, DOT, NIOSH and OSHA plus numerous state agencies, companies and law firms.
