Bryce is an assistant professor at West Virginia University and the Pat Parson’s Endowed Faculty Fellow in Asphalt Technology, where his primary responsibilities are conducting research and teaching courses related to asphalt pavements, civil engineering materials and similar topics. Prior to joining West Virginia University, Bryce was an assistant professor at Marshall University and assistant director of the Appalachian Transportation Institute. Prior to his academic career, Bryce worked as a senior consultant for Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. for where he focused on research for NCHRP, FHWA and various State departments of transportation. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech with a focus in pavement and asset management, and the topic of his studies was developing decision analysis-based frameworks for project- and network-level pavement management decisions. 

Bryce is a specialist in the areas of asphalt technology, pavement sustainability, pavement preservation, civil engineering materials, benefit-cost analysis, life cycle costing, and decision analysis.
