G. A. S. Pereira actuates in the area of robotics with recent work focused on motion planning and state estimation for autonomous ground and aerial vehicles in applications that include agriculture, forestry, industry automation, and mining. He directs the Field and Aerial Robotics (FARO) Laboratory, one of the key laboratories of the robotics program at WVU. Pereira is responsible for several graduate and undergraduate courses including Mechatronics, Robotic Manipulators, and Robot Motion Planning.
