Professor - Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
Gianfranco Doretto joined the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering of West Virginia University (WVU) in 2010. His research interests span several computer vision and machine learning areas.
Prior to joining WVU he was a lead scientist of the Visualization and Computer Vision Laboratory at General Electric Global Research (2005-2010). He was responsible for the research, development, and transition to product of technology that supports advanced aerial and ground based video surveillance applications.
His current research focus is on developing deep learning techniques for applications in the areas of biometrics, biomedical imaging, smart health, and robotics.
