David Mebane

Associate Professor - Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering

David Mebane leads the Energy Systems and Materials Simulation Group at WVU. The group is dedicated to advanced modeling of systems for energy generation and conversion, especially high temperature electrochemical systems as well as other energy-related catalytic chemical processes. Mebane received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2007, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart and the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Morgantown.

Mebane started at West Virginia in 2012, and was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure in 2018. His work is supported by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, among others.
